FUEL CO. is the brainchild of Patricia Kluge. After September 11th, she drove to many of the East Coast corridor meetings and came to the conclusion that she could not be the only person who was dissatisfied with roadside service options. She developed a business plan that would offer frequent road users alternate options in terms of food, experience and service. After all, a pit-stop espresso and grilled flank steak with arugula, roasted tomatoes and boursin cheese on homemade bread makes car travel that much more enjoyable! And for locals, a chic hang-out with fine food is the perfect stop for work-day lunch or an end-of-the-day decompression session.
FUEL CO. is comprised of a first-class team, working in concert to create a distinct culinary and brand identity for FUEL CO. Executive Chef Tim Hockett along with genius Pastry Chef Serge Torres are developing the signature cuisine. Leading local architect, Madison Spencer Architects and construction firm Nielsen have collaborated to build a standout structure to house this exciting new project, already credited with updating
Charlottesville's downtown atmosphere.
